Long considered the most beautiful of the Jasper varieties, DRAGON BLOOD JASPER is also known as Heliotrope Jasper or Bloodstone. Its color ranges from black to dark green. It is embellished with red dots. It has been known and revered by mankind since Antiquity.
Dragon's blood jasper is a variety of chalcedony, a mineral composed of silica. It is also rich in chlorite, from which it derives its green color, and contains an iron oxide, hematite, which gives it its red spots. The most important deposits are located on the island of Madagascar and in Brazil.
